We at Divine Wines are always striving to bring you the best wine kits that we can find. Just like commercial wines, our industry is advancing in quality all the time and none more so than RJ Spagnols. Being bought out by the biggest wine company in the world has given them access to great juices from many countries, and changes in management in the last few years has meant a forward looking focus in the Cru Select line, resulting in fantastic wines.

The result is us now having two suppliers and we have gone through the lists with our employees and picked what we consider the best from the two companies. Taste is an individual thing, and just because we don't carry it does not mean it isn't a good wine. We will gladly bring in any Cellar Craft or RJ Spagnol kit you want. It is just that we can't afford to carry every kit because of cost and space.

A lot of the wines we don't carry are award winning wines, but they just aren't as well known as some of the others. You should see what we have gone through to sell Zinfandel. It is a fantastic red wine, but people keep thinking it is a blush and won't consider it. We no longer carry it, and just make a batch for ourselves every couple of years.

All kits made at Divine Wines come with the new synthetic corks. Wineries are getting away from natural cork because of contamination problems. They are using either screwcap or synthetic corks, There is no way we can go to screwcap because of the cost of the machinery so we have gone with the synthetic corks which are the next best closures. This means you can let your wines age longer and reach their perfection without the worry of the wine oxidizing and going bad.

These are a mixture of RJ Spagnols and Cellar Craft white wines.  Wines that do not show as "in stock" can be ordered in and will arrive within a week.

Italian Amarone

Cellar Craft - This interpretation of the French Classic Beaujolais has a deep crimson colour and suggestion of cherry in the aroma.  It is nicely rounded and very soft with aging.  This is the wine for someone new to reds or looking for a great wedding wine that will fill the need to keep the guests happy. Australian Cabernet Shiraz Merlot

RJ Spagnols - The spicy flavour from Cabernet, sweet berry fruit of Shiraz and the softening effects of Merlot, result in a hearty, tightly structured and well-balanced wine. Meritage

RJSpagnols - This is a great wine for those of you looking for a BC offering. Meritage is the name used over here for wines that use the same grapes that would go in a French Bordeaux. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine finishes very dry but elegantly balanced. It is rich and opens with aromas of vanilla, chocolate and leather. On the palate are flavours of plum and black currant, with a touch of cloves, accented by Hungarian oak shavings.

Unlike the other wines in this section this one is fermented on the skins from Cabernet/Merlot grapes, which results in long ripe tannins The wine can be enjoyed fairly quickly, but there is enough firmness for storing in your wine cellar. A great wine for barbecues and picnics. $138.99 - In Stock

Merlot

Cellar Craft - This fantastic wine is made from Merlots from both North and South America. It has a medium body,deep colour and a slightly grassy scent which becomes more delicate over time. There are gentle fruit flavours. The wine becomes softer with aging. $108.99 - In Stock

South African Pinotage Cabernet

Australian Shiraz Viognier
