En Primeur kits

These great Spagnols wines are for those that feel they deserve nothing but the best, and are willing to wait a little longer for that to happen.  Unlike Show Case and Winery Series kits, En Primeur are made with gently dried varietal grape skins to preserve fresh varietal flavours.  This infuses your wine with intense flavours, resulting in an enhanced bouquet certain to excite the senses of discerning wine enthusiasts.

En Primeur's marriage of tradition and innovation offers a collection of classic old world favourites and exciting new world wines to be enjoyed young or after serveral months of aging.  These wine kits are made under strict standards and deliver consistent, quality wines you will be proud to call your own and share with family and friends.

There is a $45.00 fee for making these wines in our store.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

This  opulent wine from Veneto, Italy is not for the faint hearted!  Chewy tannins, plus a firm palate packed with dark, rich fruit and deep garnet colur defines this masterpiece. This is an assertively full-bodied wine with a delectable nose of black cherries, dark chocolate and well balanced oak.  It offers ripe dark fruit flavours cradled by firm tannins culminating in an almost endless finish. $170.99

Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvingon

The vineyards of  Delu Ranch in California enjoy typical Mediterranean climate and are gifted with sun soaked mornings and cool foggy nights that foster intense, mature flavours and robust tannin structure.  This richly built wine  has intricate layers of luscious black currents and cherries, followed by black pepper laced with toasted oak. $167.99

Mapocho Chilean Carmenere

Mapo Valley's warm, dry summers and mild winters bring out the best in it's premium grape, Carmenere.  The wine offers liberal flavours of fresh blackberries, plums and violet notes.  Full-bodied, this equiisite wine treats the palate to the richenss of French toasted oak with smooth, sikly tannins and succulent dark fruits.  An excellent balance between freshness and fruit structure gives an ample and impressively persistent finish. $167.99

Talagante Chilean Merlot

Acclaimed for warm, dry summers, moderate rainfall and stony soil, Maipo Valley provides a great microclimate for the Merlot grape.  This full-bodied wine has juicy berry flavours which are accentuated by delicate aroma notes of coffee and vanila. $167.99

Negroamaro Primitivo

This has to been one of our most favourite Italian red wines.  Negroamaro means black bitter, and there is a slight bitterness in the finish, just like you find with really great dark chocolate.  Any  of you that made the Cellar Craft Super Rosso Fortisimo a couple of years back will remember that great little hint of bitterness.

The wine comes from the heel of the boot of Italy, which means lots of sun, tempered by the cool breezes of the Mediteranean, creating lush, ripe and intense fruit.  This Negroamaro is very dark, rustic and intense, with dried cherries, black plum, sweet vanilla and a slight herbaceious qualaity.  The wine is well structured with firm tannins and Primitivo grape skins.  Primitivo is also know as Zinfandel.

There is a problem with this wine.  It will be in short supply this year, so you need to order it early before it is all gone. $169.99

New Zealand Pinot Noir

Dashwood Vineyards in Marlborough has alluvial clay layered with gravelly sub soils, providing exquisite winemaking conditions.  Elevated aromas of plump red cherries, bitter chocolate and spice define the intense varietal character of this full-bodied wine.  It is ruby red in colour, the palate is rich and oaky, supported by blackberries and herb flavours layered over silky, integrated tannins. $167.99

Australian Shiraz

Long sunny days and cooler nights have historically produced award winning wines in the Riverland region.  This full-bodied wine sourced from Old Mundollo Vineyards has warm black fruit and berries to entice the nose, while concentrated flavours of red fruit, oak and chocolate round out the experience. $167.99

Sicilian Syrah

Yes, Syrah is the grape of Shiraz, but these wines are continents apart in style.  Sicily with its beautiful sun baked islands and rare summer rain, produces premium Syrah grapes.  This full-bodied wine is robust and displays deep rich colours underlaind with delicious aromas of ripe cherries, plums and bitter chocolate.  It is rich in tannins and a concentration of oak notes. $167.99

Australian Chardonnay

Abundate sunshine, a warm climate, lack of humidity and controlled irrigation allows growers in the Riverland wine region to produce consistently premium grapes.  From the vineyards of Golden Heights this is a supple, but elegant wine which boasts rich aromas of honey and tropical fruits, while apples, melon and toasted oak notes tantalize the palate. $161.99

German Riesling

The epicenter of Germany's wine industry, the Rhine Valley, produces Riesling the ranges from sweet to crisp and refreshing.  This Riesling finishes off-dry which heightens a fruit packed nose revealing a palate of pineapples, peaches and honeydew melons.  Straw coloured, this medium, full-bodied white is balanced by a mild streak of acidity, leaving a lasting impression of tropical furits and floral tones. $161.99

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

New Zealand is the place to go for great Sauvignon Blanc, and to Nancy and I, this is one of the best Sauvignon Blanc we have tasted.  Situated on the north-eastern edge of the South Island, Waihopai Valley is the Sauvignon Blanc capital of the world.  The result here is a very popular full-bodied white wine of intricate complexity.  It displays tantalising aromas of tropical fruits and honey angainst a backdrop of bold citrus notes and a touch of minerality.   As my sainted grandmother would say, "To hell with the cost, give the cat two goldfish." $161.99

Australian Grenache Rose

Blush or Rose wines have grown by 30% over the past 4 years, with trends showing people are looking for more complex and premium roses. This is what those people are looking for.

Clare Valley has cool nights and warm days, which allows even and slow ripening fruit, creating wines with crisp acidity and full fruit flavour. This Grenache Rose is beautifully aromatic, with notes of lively citrus, soft rose petals and light spice. You can have this wine dry or slightly sweetened. The coral coloured wine is fantastic on it's own or paired with grilled tune or salmon. There is only limited quanities of this wine, so if you don't hurry and order it, you will have to wait for next year's crop. $163.99
